For a long time, I fought shy of describing myself as an Empath, because I felt that it had negative connotation, often tagging those highly-strung people who could not come to term with their personal emotional problems.
I just left an Empath FB Group with a large following because over time I find it having a depressingly negative energy that suffocates me whenever I visit the site. To me, I have the feeling that Group is infested with people who always wallow in self-pity, perpetually complaining about their life upheavals and the related emotional and relationship personal problems. And, there are also many “self-righteous” and overbearing individuals who always feel they are superior over others, “backhandedly” offering impractical solutions and ever ready to thumb down those who suggests sensible and viable alternatives.
On the topic of Empath, I have stumbled upon an in-depth article dissecting the psychological made up of Empath, and some of the pointers aptly describe my personality, and the life experiences I have gone through. In my final reckoning, and more on a positive note, I find that an Empath, if properly developed, would be best suited to trek and develop the spiritual path, because of his/her innate sensitivity to the energy realm.
