I append below an old email between myself and a psychic friend Star that touched on her psychic reading and my astral dreaming. Star had through many years of hard work managed to access the “Hall of Records” to tap into our past lives. In this instance, as she was working on her reading for me, I was having a lucid dream which surprisingly coincided in the contents of the reading and my dreamscape, as if there is a miraculous synchronicity at play.
Thanks for the reading, and I should be the one to be apologetic for imposing on you at the time you were most = busied. Exactly, I wanted to tell you to take your time.
Glad that the healing advice helped, colour energy healing is very effective. If you are keen I can discuss more about it later.
On your reading about my past life, I had recurring dream for the past few nights similar to your reading. I was some warrior defending my village against the marauders – cavalry bowmen. The = landscape was desert-like, and the sun was blazing in the background. In another dream, I thought I saw my son perished in flames during the attacks. In that dream, instead of using bow and arrows, I used a lance that had a brush at its end. I have been thinking that in my past lives, most of the incarnations I was a warrior, in a Red Indian tribal setting, or in Persia and in China. Somehow, I feel that as you were tapping into my astral dimension for my past life, I was at the same time reviewing mine in the astral dream state simultaneously.
And, about my this life, I have told by my spiritual friends that I would become a teacher, rather than a healer and a reader. So, your reading is accurate. Strangers also walked up to me in foreign countries and told me things that surprised me.
When your turn comes to run NAH, you can be assured of my full support. As I have mentioned to you, I am building up my own MSN group to cater to =people from the South East Asian regions. Maybe, as you have predicted that this is a sort of launching pad to prepare me for the coming teaching career.
Lucid dreaming is a testimonial of your gradual spiritual awakening. Most people acquire the lucid dreaming ability after they practice spiritual pursuits like Meditation, or even prayers in devotion to their religions. Some are born with this innate gift, while some may suddenly acquire it through some life events that impact on them, like near death experience or serious illnesses or other traumas.
There are some characteristics of lucid dreaming which I have personally experienced, and not a collation of other people’s research or write-up.
In lucid dreaming, you are actually aware you are dreaming.
You are able to continue the sequel even after you have awaken and go back to sleep.
Most of the time you are able to recall your dreams.
In your dreams you see colors and hear sounds.
Since you are aware you are dreaming, you can turn off the dream when you encounter life threatening instances, or other life crisis. You just have to will yourself to be awakened, as if there is a reset button. Perhaps, this dream of death could prepare us to face our demise in real life with less fear.
Some experiences often occur in our dreams – in my case it is the ability to levitate and fly.
The lucid dreaming sometimes reflect some recent instances when you watch a drama or read a book. And, you may assume their characterization.
Lucid dreaming does not reflect the moral values you hold in your awaken life. You may commit some moral excesses in your lucid dreaming, against your will.
Lucid Dreaming can at times provide key to unravel some of your answers you need in your actual life. Sometimes they come in symbols, and you have to learn to decode them to find meaningful interpretation.
I ever mentioned in my earlier posts that lucid dreaming can be a virtual training ground to hone some of you skills – such as performing exorcism when you have to fight with demons, ghosts and spirits.
Unlike most medical opinion, most lucid dreaming would not wear you out and make you feel drain out when you are awake. I remain as fresh as ever after bouts of lucid dreaming during my sleep.
I believe I have reached a level where I can go into lucid dream state even when I am fully awake. And, every night I actually enjoy my sleep looking forward to another episode of the virtual dreamscape.
Lucid dreaming conform to my theory that we are living in multi dimension world – the physical and material realm versus other energy vibration states. And in lucid dreaming we might be making escapades into the astral energy realm. It is a form of astral or out of body travelling.
I pen my thoughts in furtherance to my previous posts on Lucid Dreaming. I have considered Lucid Dreaming as part of our development towards our quest for spirituality.
My personal belief is that as one develops his lucid dreaming abilities, he is able to maneuver himself into dream mode even during waking hours. I have been doing that. And, to some spiritually inclined individuals, they are able to tap into this realm and harvest it for premonition and divination. They become excellent “readers”.
If we subscribe to the dimensions of the energy realm, lucid dream is like our subconscious mind straying into these dimensions – the astral plane. And, lucid dreaming is a channel through which we experience the astral plane. This explain my hypothesis that as one succeeds in controlling the lucid dreaming process, he could do it deliberately, or unconsciously, during his waking hours, and tap into it for divination, or prophesy purpose, or supposedly communication with the spiritual entities. Most people do that through deep meditation while few could make the instantaneously access as if having an on off switch. All these are done through the thought
Mediums on the other hand are often “lured” by external forces into this virtual dimension, and perform metaphysical feats like fortune telling and spiritual boxing.
My Elusive Guides that came to me in my lucid dreams
There are many adepts who pride themselves with having received personal tutelage from spiritual masters. As far as I can recall, I have never had any meaningful contact or communication with any spiritual masters or guides in my conscious state. I remember seeing their images only in fleeting moments during meditation sessions or during lucid dreaming.
It took me a long time to decide to write about these visitations in my dreams from spiritual masters, as they might appear to be too fictional and be ridiculed by people as products of figments of my imagination. I leave it to the discretion of whoever readers to decide whether to enjoy reading my personal account, or whether or not they believe in whatever I have said.
I remember vividly that before I picked up meditation, some 30 years ago, I dreamed of Jesus, and it was an overwhelming experience. The bearded Jesus was trying to convert me to Christianity and I was choked with emotions of joy and cried unabashedly when I met him. But, somehow, I remained an atheist for a while until I took up Buddhism towards the later part of my life. Nevertheless, I do believe there is a Greater Being up there, and people of different creeds only choose to call Him by whatever name.
There was another occasion just after I took up serious meditation that when I meditated in the sleeping position on my sofa in my living room, a golden ball of light came to me through the windows. It basked my body with its golden rays and giving me a great feeling of fulfillment. After that initiation, my sensitivity to the nuances of energy vibrationsbecame heightened. This incident took place after I had read a book about an ancient Taoist Master Lv Dong Bin. He described how prolonged meditation focusing on darkness could result in a gold ball of light entering our Third Eyeand illuminating our body.
In my lucid dreams, I was visited by other entities. The first one was the Earth Store (Ksitigarbha) Bodhisattva, who, according to legend, watches over the discarnate spirits in hell. He made a vow that he would never wish to attain Buddhahood so long as there is still one loss soul condemned to hell that needs his salvation. He came to me basking in golden lights , minus his headgear, and also did not utter a word. I interpreted that he came with a purpose to remind me of my role in providing a service to my fellow beings. I also take it as a divine message that I should be unselfish in sharing whatever spiritual knowledge I have been bestowed privileged access.
There was another guide, a Caucasian looking Yogi in yellow monk robes and crew-cut hairstyle, who walked into my dream one night. He laid a piece of yellow cloth with strange looking diagrams and scripts on the ground, before asking me to demonstrate to him what I had learnt. He taught me how to project the elemental energies from my palm – the fire and the water, and told me to work harder to improve my abilities in channelling these energies. He also showed up only once. Later, I chanced upon a Swaimi Amma Narayani when he came to Singapore, and he looked like the Yogi that appeared in my dream. From this encounter, I went on to pick up the techniques in the invocation of the elementals in Hindu, which I learnt from his main disciple and a personal friend, Bernard Lim. I went on to adapt the method to the Taoist style.
Said Baba was the other entity that came into my dreams one night. He appeared in his “trade-marked” Afro-African hairdo and bright red-orange gown and expressed in disappointment as to why I did not believe in him. I retorted that he was as a human being as I was and why should I revere him as a God. He responded by saying that he was no God, and wanted to show me who was his God. It turned out that he asked an emaciated old Indian man in silvery hair, who looked like Mahatma Gandhi, to lead me to the statue of Ganesh, the popular elephant head Deity much revered by the Hindus in India. Later, I learned that the old man was the previous incarnation of Said Baba. Said Baba also chanted some incomprehensible mantra in my dream and I later figured it up during my meditation as the Gayatri Mantra.
In my other lucid dreamscape, I was given a hint of some Red Indian lineage in my previous incarnations. There were several occasions I dreamt of myself as an Indian chief – Chief Sitting Bull, a rotund figure with the colorful feathery headgear. I was barking out orders to some Red Indian tribesmen launching canoes into the river.
In another episode, I was reminded of my faraway Red Indian lineage when a member of NAH, Stars, offered a psychic reading by accessing “The Book of Akashi Records”. She revealed to me that I was depicted as a Red Indian chieftain defending the tribe against an army of marauding Spanish horsemen with shields lances. Coincidentally, or otherwise, just before she wrote the email to me to inform me about her readings, I had a vivid dream of myself depicting myself in the same scenario.
After I took up meditation seriously, there was one occasion I encountered an image of a woman, whom I was still doubtful whether she was one of my guides. She came to me as a regal-looking young lady, slim like Olive in the Popeye cartoons, small face and big round eyes, with her dark hair tied into two piggy tails reaching her waist level and wearing a long loose-fitting gown with big blue Pokka discs against a white background. She was definitely not Caucasian and did not look Chinese; I had the feeling she was a squaw belonging to one of the Red Indian tribes. (Stella suggested that she could be a White Buffalo Calf woman). She stood there and watch over me while I meditated without uttering a single word.
When I had the opportunity to travel to San Jose, the USA, I went aroundspecifically to look for some trace of Red Indian heritage. I met one indigenous Red Indian peddling his ware at a trade fair and bought some obsidian arrowhead.
Then, there was this image of a Caucasian-looking man in his 40s, with long straight shoulder-length blond hair, slightly square facial shape, tall and of the medium, athlete builds and wearing a long-sleeve brown color gown with length reaching the ground. I figured him out as a Persian nobleman, and I have the gut feel that he could be my previous carnation.
All in all, I have this feeling that most of my guides have come to me in the most unobtrusive forms without materializing their presence but impart the spirituality knowledge to me in the form of chanced access to books, news articles, internet postings, and bouts of sudden insights and awareness during conscious moments and meditations and dreams.
I am one of those less fortunate practitioners who do not have the benefits of full-time learning from the Masters. Neverthess, over the years, I have been receiving spiritual knowledge in my lucid dreams. Apart from this, there also seems to be an unseen hand that guides me along, in arranging for me unsolicited access to information – in the various media of printed literature, occasion chats with like-minded individuals, and even though watching movies and playing games.
I enumerate some Examples that are attributable to lucid dreaming –
Besides picking up new skills, the lucid dreams also serve to fortify and re-orientate my thinking on different aspects of psychic training and make me rethink and readjust some of my long-held understanding of the subject matter. In other words, the dreams afford me the opportunity to not only learn new skills but also unlearn some of my long-held erroneous concepts.
In all my previous lucid dreams that I had encounters ghosts and spirits, I deployed mantras and mudras against them. Normally, the powers of the mantra – Om Mani Padme Hum- and its loud and booming effect would be strong enough to keep them at bay. This conforms to my belief that the lucid dreams of fighting the unearthly entities provide me with a dry run, sort of mock exercises, to practice my psychic prowess, as in real life we seldom have such opportunities. And, when we do have such confrontations in real life, it would be a life and death situation with no room for mistakes.
And, in most of these dreams, I experienced instances when my ability to chant mantras to fight ghosts were muffled or even muted by the supernatural dark forces. The dreams would end up in me having the ghosts or spirits with sinister smirk looming menacing towards me.
In my state of awakens, I have given much thoughts about them, and come up with remedial measures: –
To continue chanting the mantras silently in the heart,
To weave myself in protective energy armor
To activate the etheric pyramid
To draw imaginary talismans
To beam out offensive energy force with my palms or fingers.
To deploy protective stones – tektites, black tourmaline, quartz lasers..
To earnestly pray to our guardian angels, Buddhas or Bodhisattvas to protect us.
There was yet another dream where I was transposed to an ancient looking cathedral, the location of which was unknown to me. In the dream, I was walking along a foot-path next to the dull red colour bricked walls of the holy site, and I encountered some men carrying a casket coming towards me. I recall I was trying to avoid colliding into them.
About a few months after this lucid dream, I went on a tour with my family to Vietnam and saw the Notre Dame Cathedral in Ho Chi Ming City. It was the same Cathedral that I first saw in my dream. Until now, I still do not understand the image of the men carrying the casket nearly colliding into me in this dream. I suppose in most of the dream interpretation, this could signal some kind of rebirth, or a significant change in my life. This is one instance of the synchronicity at play when we dream of something and it subsequently materialises in our real life. It is as if I had astral travelled in my dream.
I have my fair share of lucid dreaming. Normally, in those dreams, there is no direct physical involvement. This conforms to the definition of lucid dreaming as one aspect of astral travelling, and does not involve physical participation in that dimension that space and time become irrelevant.
But, recently, there were actual involvement of my physical body in those lucid dreams. Since moving to a new house last year, I have been thrown out of bed and landed hard on the floor thrice during those dreams.
Each time there was some kind of fight in my dream, and the setting was in my bedroom, while I was alseep on my bed. First time, I heard noisy evil forces outside my bedroom door. I woke up from my bed and tried kicking the door to show my displeasure. Then I was rudely awakened and found myself landed hard on the floor.
Second and third time I encountered evil-looking personalities with grotesque appearance who kept on taunting me. When I responded by giving them “Karate” kicks I was flung off my bed physically and ended up sprawling on the hard floor.
However, it was fortunate that those three occasions when I fell off my bed, I did not suffer serious injuries. I suppose it is owing to my level of spiritual practice that somewhat proffer me with protection from my spiritual guides.
I do not consider these three nightmarish experience as sleep walking.
I have grown used to lucid dreaming and seem to obtain invaluable life lessons from it.
One night, in my dream my wife and I were standing atop a very steep cliff. Eager-beaver to demonstrate to her my new-found psychic ability to levitate and float in the air, I held her hands and jumped off the precipitation.
We landed safely at the bottom of the cliff, and what I saw disturbed me for quite some time after this weird dream.
The land surrounding us was almost barren with suffocating heat and devoid of any vegetation. There were pockets of sparsely spaced wooden sheds with straw roofing. Next, I saw bare bodied wicked looking men wearing only straw skirts below their waist frantically chasing and throwing daggers at each other. And, it seems they were constantly re-enacting these agonizing actions into the perpetuity
This nightmarish experience to me was an unconventional representation of “hellscape”, where people who did wrong in their past lives were condemned to suffer retribution with perpetual pains and agonies.
I have always thought about Hell being a concortion by billions of people over the succesive centuries. The strength of this collective thought forms, buttressed by the different schools of religious doctrines and indoctrination, has fortified the grand notion of the punishing Hell for evil people and their evil deeds in the past lives.
